The Work of Art turntable by Basis Audio is the culmination of Mr. Conti's extensive career in engineering and fabrication. It features a highly rigid support structure with massive, architecturally shaped beam arms machined from billet to eliminate flexure and resonate above the audio range. These arms, over-engineered to support immense weight, vary in cross-sectional area to reduce deflection and optimize structural rigidity. This design ensures a neutral, fluid-damped suspension system, resulting in superior sound quality with minimized resonance interference.

The A.J. Conti Transcendence turntable

The A.J. Conti Transcendence turntable, designed by Armando (A.J.) Conti as his final and personal reference, epitomizes his lifelong pursuit of creating the most silent and authentic record playback system. Initially named the “Comparitor,” it was posthumously renamed in honor of Conti following his death in October 2016. This turntable embodies the pinnacle of vinyl music reproduction, utilizing the “Basis Systems Approach” for optimizing each subsystem based on physics principles. The Transcendence showcases exceptional performance in dynamics, naturalness, harmonics, and sound imaging. Paired with the SuperArm tonearm, it achieves a level of vinyl reproduction that closely mirrors the quality of high-speed analog master tapes.

The 2500 turntable

This turntable boasts the Debut Signature Series platter and a unique oil-well bearing design, setting a new standard in record player engineering. This design ingeniously aligns the platter's center of gravity between the top and bottom bushings of the bearing, minimizing lateral forces, reducing friction and noise, and resulting in the 2500's signature silent, transparent, and effortless sound. Additionally, the optional Basis Vacuum Record Hold-Down System applies negative pressure to the record, ensuring perfect flatness and resonance elimination. This system effectively couples the record to the platter, revealing true musical tonality without vinyl resonance coloration, surpassing other methods like record outer rings in resonance control. The vacuum system also corrects warped records, enhancing dynamics, imaging, musicality, bass power, and tracking ability to unparalleled levels.
